Vacancy for a Transport Modeller - Farnborough

Due to our continued success, we are looking for a talented Transport Modeller to join our dynamic and growing team, based in our Farnborough office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in contributing to the delivery of technical outputs and maintaining our excellent standards. Main Duties:
· Undertaking junction capacity assessments using ARCADY, PICADY (Junctions 9/10) and LINSIG
· Building and running strategic transport models (VISSIM, PARAMICS or similar)
· Input to Transport Assessments and Transport Statements
· Interpretation of drawings in AutoCAD for modelling purposes
· Liaison with clients, contractors and local / national authorities as required
· Attendance at meetings / public consultation events as required
· Management of small / medium sized modelling-led projects
· Provide support and guidance to junior staff within the team
· Taking ownership of other traffic / transport related tasks as required by your Team Leader
Requirements
Education/ Experience:
· Degree in applicable subject; Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering
· 2+ year's experience in transport planning and modelling
· Proven experience in Junctions 9, LINSIG and traffic simulation software
Technical Skills:
· Advanced use of Microsoft Office software packages
· Advanced understanding of spreadsheets / presentation of technical outputs e.g. traffic flows
· Advanced understand / interpretation of AutoCAD
· Proficient use of ARCADY, PICADY and LINSIG
· Use of VISSIM / PARAMICS simulation software or similar
Competencies
· Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data
· Ability to work easily and accurately with traffic modelling software
· Confident written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent problem-solving skills
· Interpersonal skills
· Self-motivated with ability to manage own workload
· Provide direction to junior staff on transport modelling tasks / projects
· Approachable and professional manner when dealing with colleagues and clients
· Attention to detail
· Ability to work proactively and use initiative.
