Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance Engineer

As part of the Maintenance Team at Camden, to assist with the day to day delivery of an efficient and effective pro-active and reactive maintenance service on the Camden Campus. Primarily involved in the maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems and equipment you will work on various other systems in conjunction with other maintenance technicians

• To ensure that all working practices are carried out to Health and Safety Regulations and that appropriate risk assessments are undertaken or understood before any maintenance work is commenced

• To be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of areas such as plant rooms and workshops

• Demonstrate a flexible approach to the delivery of the work within the Department. Consequently, the postholder may be required to perform duties not specifically identified in the job description but which are in line with the general responsibilities of this post
• To allow suitable maintenance cover between the core hours of 0800 - 1600
• To undertake training as required or directed to allow safe working practices and enhancement of personal skills
• The postholder may be required to work at the Hawkshead Campus should circumstances dictate

• To work as part of the Maintenance Team to ensure the delivery of an effective and efficient maintenance service
• To work closely with the Estates Facilities and Projects Teams to ensure a cohesive approach to the service delivered by the Estates Department
• To provide cover for absent colleagues as required

• To undertake multi-disciplined maintenance duties, both planned and reactive, to a high standard using appropriate tools, equipment and machinery
• To advise on the procurement of spares and materials
• To participate in the 'out of hours' maintenance rota in order that an effective emergency maintenance service can be maintained outside of normal working hours

• Day to day contact and liaison with a wide range of internal and external personnel including colleagues in the Estates Department, academics, contractors and suppliers
