We have a new opportunity for a Production Planner/Scheduler, to join us at Babcock Devonport within Laboratory Services, as part of the Business Support team. Laboratory Services is part of the Technical Services function that is responsible for the provision of technical support across Devonport Royal Dockyard and wider Babcock.


Who we are looking for?

We are looking for you to be proactive and driven in this role with experience in data processing, analysis and presentation. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across different teams. Experience in planning, developing, and delivering a project or working with schedules or production lines would be advantageous with this position offering you the opportunity to further develop and enhance these skills. We are looking for you to be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with the ability to adapt positively to changing situations and demands, combined with a willingness to learn.


What will you be doing?
As Production Planner/Scheduler, you will work with Senior Project Engineers to run the established systems, providing business support to all sections of laboratory services including training others to perform duties. You will be key in providing cover for purchasing and subcontracting routes for all sections whilst ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and processes utilised to perform duties.


Your responsibilities will include, but won't be limited to:
* Create and provide the logging, analysis, vetting and distribution of data to communicate delivery performance
* Produce weekly, monthly and project schedules
* Resource planning, identifying risks, issues and opportunities
* Attend planning meetings
* Support team absence for out of tolerance data and processing
* Supporting varied improvement projects


The experience you'll bring
* You'll be either qualified at Level 3 or equivalent in a business-related subject or have experienced planning or scheduling within a production or laboratory environment
* You will possess good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with others within teams
* Proficient IT skills particularly the use of Excel


You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
