As a Lead Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer you will be working in the SSE Electrical Engineering Group's EMC Section and will be involved in the various associated EMC work streams. You will be a source of EMC expertise and will be responsible for management of the EMC Testing tasks run on behalf of the MoD customer within the Electrical Engineering group.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a qualified Engineer with experience of EMC Testing in UKAS accredited test chambers and experience of working to meet military EMC test requirements (DEF-STAN 59-411).

What will you be doing?
* Delivery of (and, where required, attendance at) SSE EMC testing, including:
o Managing subcontracts and/or partnerships with UKAS accredited EMC Test Houses to plan, cost and undertake EMC testing (as required by the MoD or Babcock), in addition to the production of EMC Test reports and mitigation of EMC failures.
o Designing and creating representative setups of complex systems and equipment in laboratory environments to then be used for formal EMC Testing.
o Assisting the development of a capability within Babcock to perform (non-UKAS accredited) EMC troubleshooting (i.e. using methods such as pre-scanning) and EMC failure resolution.
* Day-to-day coordination and management of allocated EMC engineers' workload on SSE EMC testing projects and deliverables.
* Manage the scoping, costing and planning of EMC testing.

The experience you'll bring
* Minimum of HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering plus required experience or Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or science equivalent.
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer or aiming to achieve professional registration in the near future.

* Extensive EMC experience

* Experience leading teams to deliver outputs to cost, time and quality requirements of a contract.
* Experience managing multiple projects in parallel
* Experience as the primary point of contact for a customer.

You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
