Who we're looking for

We are looking for an individual who is an adaptable and motivated self-starter. Qualifications and Experience

You will have graduated or be about to graduate with a relevant degree at Bachelors or Masters level, or above:

  • You will have an interest in technology and its applications in defence, ideally in the digital domain.
  • Required technical skills

  • A relevant degree (but not necessarily in systems engineering!),
  • An analytical mind set and creative approach to problems,
  • A capability to understand the various different aspects of a technical challenge,
  • A willingness to learn and apply systems thinking and systems engineering methods
  • Desirable technical skills/experience

    Experience in any of the following would be beneficial:

  • Requirements Based Engineering (RBE), requirements management and configuration control,
  • Model Based System Engineering (MBSE),
  • Testing and simulation environments,
  • System and Platform Integration,
  • Networking and IP,
  • EMC/Electromagnetic Environmental Effects
  • Aerospace/airworthiness,
  • Radio Frequency Communications,
  • UAS development,
  • System Architecture,
  • An understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Personal skills and attributes

  • Desire to upskill, learn new subjects, application areas and skills.
  • Agility and flexibility
  • Collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity
  • Problem solving & lateral thinking
  • Time management and prioritisation.
  • A desire to work towards membership of an appropriate engineering institution.
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you are a critical thinker able to be innovative in your approach and thinking and able to work at pace balancing multiple priorities concurrently. Collaboration, adaptability and inclusion are key to the success of Mission Systems, and these will be part of your core attributes.
