As part of the Digital Solutions team within Babcock Naval Marine you'll form part of an amazing, diverse and inclusive team of talented people that provide specialist knowledge management and technical expertise on a range of interesting products, technologies and collaborative solutions that support both our internal and external Royal Navy customers.


Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a personable and professional Technical/Solution Architect with proven working experience in the scoping, design and delivery of complex IT Systems. You'll be adaptable, un-phased by changing priorities, actively seeking new knowledge and enjoy a challenge with a full on schedule of varied and interesting projects. Demonstrable experience of designing on premise SharePoint instances with support of a subsequent delivery is essential.

What will you be doing?
* Working as part of a growing architecture team on a range of medium scale projects within a wider large scale transformation programme.
* Responsible for scoping, designing and presenting solutions to the customer and staff through discussion, written proposals, formal presentations, whiteboard workshops and diagrammatic storyboarding.
* You will partner with the customer business leads to understand sector and business unit strategy in order to agree IT solutions, whilst being mindful of our internal business strategy within the same sector and corresponding business units.
* You will lead in designing, assessing, specifying, costing and down-selecting IT solutions in support of both infrastructure team COTS based solution delivery and the development of in-house solutions. This will include leading on scoping and design of a proposed SharePoint solution
* You will also support the Enterprise Architect in developing and maintaining a model of the current and future IT systems architecture, integration and solutions roadmap.
* Supporting bids and business change in estimating cost and preparing business cases for IT solutions, including partnering with account managers across our supply chain to ensure value for money and commercial compliance for all solutions proposed and delivered.

The experience you'll bring
* You will have experience in Technical Architecture and solution design.
* Strong customer engagement skills are a must, as well as bid experience being useful to have.
* Proven experience in scoping and designing on premise SharePoint solutions
* Strong technical knowledge of Windows, Oracle Middleware, Virtualisation, VDI based deliveries (VMWare/Citrix)
* Strong understanding of security principles is essential, and experience of accreditation and information assurance governance is advantageous.

You must be a British national and be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
