Manpower are delighted to be assisting one of our clients, within the food industry, as they look for someone else to join their busy shipping team as a Shipping Coordinator.

This is being offered as a hybrid role with remote working and flexible start times but 3 days a week you can expect to be based in their swanky office on the Thames near Tower Bridge.

The role in question will focus on the traded side of the business predominantly, with some food service items to import from the continent so both road and ocean freight knowledge would be ideal.

Excellent chance to work with a historic, well-established business who have been around since the 1800s and who are passionate about offering their staff the flexibility to manage their week as they see fit and who consistently promote from within.

The Shipping Coordinators Will Be Responsible For

  • Processing purchase orders with factories, planning and arranging international sea/air shipment from start to finish
  • Liaising with all parties involved such as factories, shipping agents, and customers to ensure a smooth shipping process. Monitoring shipments and updating relevant parties accordingly
  • Working with and reviewing shipping documents such as Bill of Ladings, commercial invoices, packing list, certificates of origin, and ensuring that correct paperwork is in place
  • Preparing and submitting necessary documents for customs clearance
  • Working with warehouses to ensure goods are booked into the warehouse correctly
  • Arranging deliveries and collections by road from point A to B
  • Other duties as required by logistics and the shipping department

Salary up to £33,000 dependent on experience

Package includes 25 days holiday, life insurance policy, annual salary reviews & end of year bonus

Requirements (some Training Can Be Offered)

  • Some knowledge of deep sea imports/shipping as well as road freight distribution
  • Attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and cross-trading and preparing Bills of Lading
  • UK shipping experience
  • Understanding of how to ship goods after Brexit and customs procedures
