Manpower is currently recruiting for the role of Team Leader for one of our clients based in Perth.

Your working week will be Monday - Friday 39 hours per week.

Principal Purpose

The focus of the role is to maximise the efficiency of the distribution unit and packaging lines. To demonstrate reproducibility, sustainability and continuous improvement. Must be forward thinking with a positive mind set to identify and implement continuous improvements to each line/area within the site.

Principal Elements

Health and safety: Actively promote and demonstrate health and safety systems, standards, and expectations. Communicate issues to the shift manger and close out problems.

Throughput: To be maximised through all processes demonstrating improvement and sustainability. Follow and adapt to sales trends to satisfy customer demand and line flexibility.

Quality: Right first time to be at 99.7% but targeting 100%.

Downtime: To be minimised with improvement ideas communicated and implemented.

Resource: Ensure all resource is in place when needed including materials, people and consumables. Operate any process when required in order to ensure the packaging and picking areas remain operational and on time.

Reporting: Input daily data into the system for trace ability purposes and improvement ideas. Report into the Warehouse manager and actively seek improvements in all aspects of the business unit.

Leadership: Demonstrate responsibility for guiding employees in their day-to-day roles. Responsible for developing and implementing processes and procedures (site rules, H&S, company policies etc) to employees. Delegation of tasks and completion of investigations and file notes where appropriate.

Job Context / Key Challenges

To achieve the requirements of the dispatch/daily outbound good schedules, driven by H&S legislation, Quality and service.

Knowledge and Experience

(Knowledge and experience needed for satisfactory performance of the job)

  • Extensive knowledge of the distribution area and each section of that area.
  • Extensive product knowledge and requirements to achieve high OTIF %.
  • A thorough understanding of the supplier and customer process including consumables.
  • A thorough understanding of OEE reporting and inputting - work with Engineering to achieve improvements.
  • A thorough understanding of all packaging and distribution processes and associated areas within that.
  • Good communication skills on all levels
  • Basic computer skills to fulfil role
  • Be reliable and flexible to business requirements/demands.
  • Be able to train others in all processes to improve flexibility and growth

Performance Measures

Annual appraisals to be undertaken by Warehouse Manager and objectives set for the forthcoming year.
