An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Shift Engineer to join our client, Ekaterra a leading global FMCG tea company. This is a full-time, permanent role, and will be based in Trafford Park, Manchester. Working a rotational 3 shift patter paying £40,671 plus. £6,474 shift allowance

JOB PURPOSE

To diagnose and eradicate all technical issues related to manufacturing through effective use of people and resources.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforce all site safety initiatives and rules.
  • Apply safety training and develop the appropriate skills (e.g., via ISOHH training) to
  • become fully operational
  • Understand the purpose of the permit system and develop the appropriate skills to write permits in case of emergency
  • Manage factory evacuation and incident control (including Fire and other emergencies)
  • Responsible for instigating accident reports on shift and assisting with follow-up actions
  • (incl. supporting Major Accident / Incident Review Group).
  • Eradicate top 10 downtime issues
  • Share knowledge and communicate at all levels.
  • Ensure all jobs are fully documented on completion
  • To coach and develop others
  • Manage and lead the shift engineering team
  • Support the recruitment and selection of new team members
  • Assist Maintenance Manager or Unit Manager with people management activities e.g. return to work interviews, PDPs.
  • Understand and Apply Crisis Management Process and escalation procedures
