An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as PG Tips, Lipton and Pukka, as a Shopper Marketing Manager. This will involve a mixture of working from home and working from the office in Waterloo, London (2 days minimum in the office per week). This is a full-time temporary role working a 36.25-hour week to start ASAP for 12 months, paying up to £50,000 per annum, pro rata.

The core purpose of this role is to lead the Shopper Marketing team to deliver for insightful and differentiated campaigns at the first moment of truth, in store. Shopper Marketing campaigns that close the sale within the retailer, both instore and online. This role will lead the channel for the delivery of brilliant brand and category driving experiences at the point of purchase decision that, through unlocking shopper barriers and prompting triggers to purchase, positively influence shopper consideration, help to find the right product and/or convince the shopper to buy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Development & delivery of our shopper marketing programme with UK retailers
  • Partner with key members of the ekaterra UK CD team to best meet retailer needs
  • Build customer relationships and lead the development of a Shopper Marketing Strategy with them
  • Management of shopper marketing creative development process with creative partners/retailers
  • Measure impact of our shopper marketing activities in order to build best practices and prioritise future spend
  • Ensure efficient management of the allocated shopper marketing budget with regular reporting vs expected spend. Re-prioritising activity as required based on budget changes during the year.
  • Establish a set of trusted suppliers for all shopper marketing materials and review these ongoing on the basis of cost, reliability and creativity. Maintain control of POS material stockholding. Be mindful of sustainability implications of all activities with physical materials and seek to minimise our impact on the planet.
  • Work in partnership with brand and CD teams to make a winning impression with our retail partners at these key moments (including internal sales conference events)
  • Partner with marketing/CCD/CD teams and the PR agency to ensure that we secure great coverage for our business and brands in channels such as The Grocer to support our brand initiatives and strengthen our positioning as a supplier of choice in the market
  • Represents the UK shopper issues and opportunities in IBP on the basis of identified category specific triggers and barriers.
  • In partnership with CMI, be the Shopper Insight key business partner to lead for the embedding of Shopper insight into the Marketing teams.
  • Manage relationship with key contact at Stand Out agency, brief territory managers monthly on instore and brand priorities by retailer, manage any tactical requests (brief and lead), collate monthly findings by the field team and share with relevant team.
  • Lead shipper execution with the repack team, own the NSP approval form, create artwork and gain approval by retailer, where needed involve field sales to implement
  • Own marketing for the TAG survey
  • Manage Shopper marketing separation process. Vendors list, set up the shopper creative team as our own system for ekaterra, processes such as Mindshare etc if we want to move these across.

Key Skills Required

  • Must be an experienced Shopper Marketeer however open to category experience.
  • Must have experience of managing a Field Sales Team.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience of using DART, PIN, TAB and Brandbank would be beneficial however is not essential.
  • Know shoppers and shopping behaviour and can translate insight into actionable campaigns.
  • Can develop strategic shopper marketing plans.
  • Can lead the development and implementation of the shopper marketing plan.
  • Ability to work with agencies, customers, colleagues and experts.
  • Can evaluate, learn from Shopper Marketing programmes and implement best practice.
