Administration Officer- Liverpool- 23 Month contract (possibility of extension)

Manpower are currently recruiting for an administration officer to work on behalf of the university Royal Naval Unit. Reporting to the commanding officer the administration officer will be responsible for the following duties:

  • To be the unit SME on the Unit Administration Systems
  • Assist the Unit Coxswain with JPA Pay uploads, reconciliations and EPC returns.
  • Act as Unit Data Protection/ Information Management Officer
  • Support unit continuity by co-ordinating CO and Coxswain handovers.
  • Act as the unit office clerk for all staff and members, utilising the UAS and JPA where appropriate, including liaising with HQ to co-ordinate transfers between units.
  • Book Travel for Unit Activities and raise Budget Control Forms for all crown expenditure and Expenses.
  • To coordinate monthly books.
  • Maintain an understanding of the Royal Navy working practices in order to liaise effectively with other organisations within the Naval Service.
  • Maintain the Unit Diary.
  • Assist in the organisation of unit functions and events.
  • Oversee the management of unit stationery.
  • Assist the unit Coxswain in the administration of all new entry paperwork including application for references, medical, National security Vetting (NSV) and Identification (ID) Cards, including the inputting of new joiners onto JPA and UAS.
  • Conduct other administrative duties as directed by the Unit Coxswain or Unit CO.

Candidate requirements

  • Experienced administrator (preferably within a similar working environment)
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the MOD administration processes (preferable)
  • IT literate and good knowledge of MS systems
  • Great organisational skills
  • Previous experience on MOD applications (JPA, UAS) (preferable)

Additional requirements

All suitable candidates will need Ministry of defence clearance before starting employment and must complete the following:

  • 3 Years written referencing
  • 2x proof of ID including proof of address
  • Basic DBS (Manpowers expense)

Working hours

Monday to Friday 08.00am-16.00pm (flexibility available on working hours start & finish time)

Hybrid working available.

23 month contract with a possibility of extension.

Rate of pay

£10.30 per hour
