Warehouse Manager- Permanent vacancy Manpower is currently recruiting for a Warehouse Manager to work on a permanent basis on behalf of one of our local manufacturing clients. Working hours: Monday- Friday40 hours p/wSalary negotiable: 30-35k p/a Locations- Weeton- Preston (PR4 postcode) We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Manager to organise and oversee the warehouse/day-day operations . You will ultimately be responsible for the smooth running of the warehouse operations.
Reporting directly to the operations manager the main overview will be:
Key Duties include:
- Ensuring all operations are carried out in an appropriate, cost-effective way.
- Purchasing materials, planning inventory, and overseeing warehouse efficiency.
- Helping the organisation's processes remain legally compliant.
- Performing quality controls and monitoring warehouse KPIs.
- Recruiting, training and supervising of team.
- Keeping a close eye on the stock situation, the evolution of demand, and its impact on stock planning.
- Identifying slow-moving stock, using the inventory turnover report, and sharing this monthly with the local manager, while jointly reviewing and realigning strategies to reduce this stock.
- Working with other subsidiaries to help with shortages or slow-moving stock, as well as sharing experiences, issues, and solutions to day-to-day problems.
- Communicating daily with the team on problems and producing solutions to improve work flow and ensure the work-flows are efficient for the local operation.
- Managing staff & supervisors on a day to basis.
- Overseeing holiday & sickness cover.
- Ensuring day to day health & safety of the warehouse.
Requirements :
- Experience in a similar position is required.
- Previous experience in team management
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in working with ERP software's/in house systems
- Able to work precisely, with strong organisational skills.
- Customer-orientated and able to resolve day-to-day challenges.
- Able to multi-task and think proactively.
- Self-motivated, flexible and willing to work both in a team and individually.
- Great team player and a can do attitude
