We're looking for someone dynamic, ambitious and eager to make a real impact in the Dreadnought programme's delivery team, within Babcock Mission Systems.

Babcock Mission Systems is a business unit within the Marine Sector of Babcock International Group. Working on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, Mission Systems works with a number of key clients domestically and internationally. We're based at a number of sites in the UK and overseas. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace, as a result we are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven people.

The difference you will make

The Babcock Mission Systems project management team of about 160 people helps teams deliver their goals, whether they are customer contracts or business improvements. Most of the team are based in Bristol, but you'll find project managers at most Mission Systems sites. This award-winning team successfully delivers complex projects worldwide, operating right across different functions, and at the heart of delivery teams working with customers.

As a Project Controller you will be apart of the Dreadnought delivery team, you'll work with senior management and build cross business partnerships in delivering a number of strategic projects on time and to budget, including:

  • Contributing to programme reporting requirements
  • Supporting risk and opportunity development across the delivery team
  • Supporting the Engineering function in controlling complex work packages
  • Supporting the PMO in managing schedule forecasts and baseline change requests
  • Who we're looking for

    You're someone who is detailed orientated and who can manage a number of work streams within complex plans. You're able to drive programme best practice and be adaptable in new environments. Additionally you continuously champion high performance, challenge the status quo, actively seek out different perspectives and speak up.



    Experience

  • Project Control experience (ideally in an engineering or Defence Company)
  • Project Control experience (ideally in an engineering or Defence Company)
  • Working knowledge of P6 or MS Project
  • Competent on all Microsoft Packages (Word, PowerPoint etc)
  • Skilled in Risk Management tools (ARM/ RiskHive) * Knowledge of DevOPs (preferred but not essential)

  • Project Management Qualification (desirable)



  • Skills and attributes

  • Create and maintain complex schedules.
  • Create risks and manage mitigation plans.
  • Generate and circulate weekly and monthly performance reports, and associated analysis and narrative to inform management of progress, risks, and issues.
  • Scheduling and facilitating stakeholder meetings.
  • Managing and maintaining project documents as required.
  • Producing reports and presentations for reviews, progress meetings, etc. as required.
  • Carry out document and records management ensuring compliance with Document Control processes.
