Babcock is seeking an experienced Head of SOC. As a key role reporting to the CISO, you'll be the focal point for all security monitoring and technical compliance as part of a proactive and preventative approach to Cyber resilience.

This role requires regular travel to Portsmouth on a weekly basis alongside remote working arrangements and access to any Babcock Hub. This role would be ideally suited to someone within local distance to Portsmouth due to travel expectations.

Who we are looking for?

As a Head of SOC you'll be responsible for delivering high performing security operations services and working across the organisation to ensure strong security practice. Therefore, you'll have experience of working in a senior role within in a security operations environment and have a track record of leading teams to success.

What will you be doing?

This role involves:

  • Developing and implementing the Cyber Resilience Strategy to ensure a proactive approach to security defence, threat intelligence and defence / protection is deployed.
  • Ensuring a programmatic approach to delivery of the Cyber Resilience strategy and provide the CISO with plans and reports for approval and ongoing review.
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient provision of the Security Operations service ensuring daily checks, detailed analysis, incident handling, documentation, prompt communications, advice and guidance.
  • Leading the SOC in identification / mitigation of cyber/IT security threats to Babcock.
  • Leading major security incidents assisting with team prioritisation, coordination, and support.
  • Providing security advice and briefings to stakeholders including senior management as necessary.
  • Ensuring recruitment, performance management, team training, mentoring and communications are carried out as appropriate.

The experience you'll bring

You will need a university degree or relevant experience in Cyber Security and Information Assurance.

You will also need:

  • A proven track record in delivering effective security resilience with at least three years of hands-on Security Operations experience.
  • Experience in IA Audit and Policy.
  • Understanding of ISO27001, Data Protection and Trade controls.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire the Cyber Resilience team to success.

Lastly, you must hold or have the ability to obtain SC and DV security clearance.
