An exciting opportunity to be part of a major project developing new facilities at Devonport Royal Dockyard. You'll join a friendly and motivated team of people who are proud to ensure that our work is compliant and safe. The Nuclear Site Plant Management team is focused on ensuring work across the site is undertaken safely as we are responsible for nuclear implicated cross-site services, including the provision of high integrity, high voltage electrical services to provide shore supplies to submarines.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a Design and Safety Process Manager to provide governance of all activities across the DRDL Nuclear Site, particularly focused on nuclear and radiological safety implications of the operation of all cross site services and submarine over-side services. You will have a number of direct reports.

What will you be doing?
* Enabling the delivery of the projects underway and planned at Devonport as part of the UK defence programme.

* Performing the function of a Facility Procedure Authorisation Group (FPAG) Chair. This role comprises a number of areas of responsibility ranging from document approval to interfacing with the regulators, MoD/RN Nuclear Safety bodies and other Babcock stakeholders.

* Maintain Plant Safety Case interfaces, implementing Licence Conditions/Authorisation Conditions (LCs/ACs), Plant Safety Cases and ensuring appropriate Operating Rules (ORs), Identified Operating Instructions (lOIs) and Operating Instructions (OIs) are published and adhered to. To become an Duly Authorised Person under LC/AC12.

* To ensure continuity of all essential services to nuclear submarines and the support of nuclear facilities across the DRDL Nuclear Site and the MoD Authorised facilities.


The experience you'll bring
* Facility and/or Plant Management experience

* Safety Case experience with respect to understanding and implemeting the identifid requirements and conducting compliance audtis

* Facility experience as they will be supporting the upgrading of facilities in Devonport Dockyard.

* Relevant Engineering Degree

You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
