Overview:
We are hiring a Infrastructure Support Specialist (Data Centre Server Ops) for our client based in Kildare. This role is a full time, permanent position.

The role:
Based in Co. Kildare, you will be supporting a customer who sets high standards for themselves and expects the same standards of FDS as their IT support provider.
Supporting physical servers onsite in a Windows and Linux environment as a well as an onsite Lab area, Server landings, end to end ownership of physical touch and OS issues, provide out of hours support (on call rota). Day to day activity includes resolving a wide variety of incidents and requests, while minimizing disruption to our users.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, manage, monitor, and resolve Incident/Service requests, adhere to OLA and SLA.
  • Responsible for executing Add/Move/Change of equipment inside the Data Centre that includes server & racks, including shipping memos for offsite shipments
  • Equipment landing/decommission/scrapping within Service Level Agreements
  • Network cabling activities inside data enter at rack & row following cable management process
  • OS provisioning, configuration & administration.
  • Updating Asset management system throughout the life cycle of assets.
  • Ensuring accurate data is kept in Asset System and CMDB with regards to machine information, location, and our on-call information.
  • Vendor escalation and escort inside Data Centre.
  • Responsible for weekly SMBWA to keep Data Centre in strict adherence to Intel Health & Safety standards.
  • Responsible for all next level escalations and follow ups to incidents or service issues.
  • Excellent customer communications and follow up.
  • Customer communications as related to incident, service request, downtime and shutdown activities in regard to the job scope (e.g. notify server owner prior commencing work)
  • Coordinating all shutdown activities that relates to DCO Server Operations (refer to site contract agreement). DC Manager will continue to manage DC shutdowns and customer engagements.
  • 24 X 7 On-call duties (1:5 rota)
  • Assisting and coordination all downtime activities
  • Responsible for coordination on scrapping activities



Job requirements/Desired knowledge or certification:
· At least 1 years' experience in a similar position would be expected
· Competence in troubleshooting and resolving Operating Systems issues
· Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux experience desirable
· Knowledge of server hardware troubleshooting
· Professional, with excellent communication skills and customer interaction abilities
· Unquestionably flexible and present a value-add performance
· Ability to quickly adapt and learn
· Good team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills
· Self-motivation and the ability to work under minimal supervision are a must

  • Manual Handling experience


Desirable:

  • Hyper V, Apachi, SQL
