Babcock Rail are currently looking to recruit a Safety Quality & Environment Advisor to work in Northern Ireland. In this role you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive service on the management of safety, quality and environment systems, procedures, advice and auditing for the Rail Business Unit within Rail Engineering ensuring that SQE procedures are kept up to date.

Who we are looking for?

This role will be suited to someone who has ideally worked in the Railway environment, though this is not essential. You will be commercially aware with the ability to deliver at all levels within the business. Not afraid to challenge the status quo you will be a solution generator.

What will you be doing?
Your main duties will include:

* Advising and helping on collating the format and content of Local Safety Arrangements.
* Assisting with the co-ordination and collation of KPI information relative to your area of responsibility.
* Taking the lead in undertaking risk assessment as required within the Business.
* Taking the lead in identifying environmental aspects and impacts relating to the Business.
* Reviewing and advising project management on the content of project health and safety, quality and environmental plans as required by CDM Regulations and client requirements.
* Ensuring that safety legislation and applicable external standards and its implications to Rail Engineering are addressed and strategies developed and advised prior to and during implementation.

The experience you'll bring
* Ideally from a Railway or Engineering background
* NEBOSH Certificate
* Qualified and fully experienced Lead Auditor of Quality Assurance and / or Environmental Management Systems with an IRCA qualification.
* Sound knowledge of BS EN ISO 9001, ISO14001 and BS EN ISO19011
* IEMA Certificate
* Accident Investigation Qualification
* Diploma/Certificate Environment Management.
* Practising Safety Professional with an engineering background and technical qualifications.
* Essential that the post holder is a member if the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (MIOSH)
