Babcock Marine is pursuing an exciting national and international strategic growth programme. We are looking for permanent a Supply Chain Capability Manager to ensure that our delivery streams are adequately prepared for and ready to accept the increased demand on their resources. In short, this role focuses on making our supply chain capability 'fit for the future'.

Here at Babcock International Group we aim to deliver engineering-led and world-leading products and services across our Engineering, Specialised Manufacturing, Gas Handling Systems and Naval Marine business streams.

This role is Hybrid working, 2 days on site 3 days at home

Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a Supply Chain Capability Manager that is a leader who can inspire their team and promote the profile of procurement and supply chain in the business

What will you be doing?

This role will focus on the Mobilisation phase of the Babcock business winning process. As a dual role you will take on a Senior Procurement Management position. You will work closely with both operational supply chain teams and the supply chain growth teams in order to enable smooth mobilisation of contracts. Taking responsibility and accountability for the effective execution of the Integrated Business Planning process, you will ensure the function is properly resourced, including both people and infrastructure. Specifically working with the delivery streams to:
* Manage the mobilisation aspects of the overall supply chain and logistics solutions for new business and projects.
* Manage the Procurement and Supply Chain (PSC) resource plan in order to meet current and new business requirements,
* Proactively manage supply side and PSC functional risk plan through the mobilisation phase.
* Working with the growth team to map future state contracts; understand functional 'to-be' technical and behavioural competency requirements and putting in place a plan to close any gaps that are identified.
* Put in place personal and team learning and growth development plans and succession arrangements to meet the needs of future business.
* Work closely with the wider divisional functional mobilisation team to ensure consistent roll out of divisional programmes and to promote collaboration between sites and value streams.
* Lead supply chain team with overall capex and Opex spend.
* Manage a team of people that require to meet project deadlines and ensure that product and services are deliver in time to meet project requirements.
* Manage and delivery KPI matrix to a green status and improve delivery performance
* Focus on savings and meeting project budgets driving innovative thinking to exceed targets.

The experience you'll bring
* Essential: Strong experience in a Supply Chain Management role with good knowledge and understanding of current and leading edge Supply Chain Management tools and techniques.
* Essential: Good knowledge of the Babcock Business Management System and Technical Competency Framework.
* Essential: Ability to develop innovative supply chain delivery solutions.
* Desirable: Proven track record of transformation and capability development in a supply chain management context.
* Desirable: Experience of both public and private sector procurement.
* Desirable: Supply Chain Management first and/or second degree.
* Desirable: MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification
* You should hold or have the ability to obtain SC clearance
