The Head of Application Packaging role is based within our Babcock Corporate Services business.

Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, with our largest site being Lakeside in Portsmouth, but we operate from multiple sites around the world. BCS supplies and operates all IT, security, procurement, and finance Shared Services. We are embedded alongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships that support delivery to our customers. We drive standardisation, simplification and automation across Babcock, to help generate sustainable value for the group and our external customers

The Role

The difference our new Head of Application Packaging, will make

As a Head of Application Packaging, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is your opportunity to join us and make a difference by managing the workload, resources and throughput of the team.

Day to day, you'll manage the application packaging service, ensuring all activities within the packaging lifecycle from initial packaging, deployment, upgrades and decommissioning are delivered efficiently and in line with agreed levels of service. You'll own the service, ensuring its efficient operation across all desktops, server and data centre environments, as well as defining and implementing policies, procedures and standards, ensuring there is consistent application by the team.

Essential Experience

You will need relevant experience managing an Application Packaging team, or operating as a Senior Packaging Analyst (or equivalent).

You will also need:

  • Experienced IT professional, focused on delivering an effective and efficient operational service withing an Enterprise IT organisation.
  • Experience of managing people across diverse skillsets
  • Knowledge of working within an ITIL environment
  • Proven experience of working in accordance with Service Level Agreements

Lastly, you must hold or have ability to obtain SC security clearance.
