An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Skills Trainer to join our client, Ekaterra a leading global FMCG tea company. This is a full-time, permanent role, and will be based in Trafford Park, Manchester. Working Monday -Friday 7am - 3pm paying £37094 plus £5410 shift allowance = £42504

We are currently recruiting a Technical Skills Trainer within our Supply Chain, Manufacturing Excellence team. The Technical Skills Trainer leads all technical training interventions for the sourcing unit and is an experienced mechanical and electrical engineer with an excellent ability to Teach, Coach and Mentor. The skills trainer will coordinate and deliver course training for technicians, engineers, engineering apprentices and technical operators in accordance with requirements. They will liaise with other training providers where it is advantageous to use their capabilities. Within the factory, the skills trainer will continue to support the development and progression of trained technicians, engineers, and technical operators through the skills audit process. Operational training interventions will be varied, but often involve World Class Manufacturing and continuous improvement training. Additionally, the skills trainer will provide advice and measuring for the recruitment of technical skills to the sourcing unit. The skills trainer is responsible for the proper maintenance and safe running of on-site training facilities and materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical - Able to Teach, Coach and Mentor a minimum of mechanical and electrical engineering skills. An inspirational teaching approach is a guiding requirement for the role.

  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent including Maths and English
  • Intermediate I.T. Skills
  • Mechanical Engineering Discipline at Post Apprenticeship Skill level (as graded by national standards)
  • Electrical Engineering Discipline at Post Apprenticeship Skill level (as graded by national standards)
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Experience Required:

  • Control & Automation Engineering Discipline at Post Apprenticeship Skill level (as graded by national standards) would be advantageous
  • Experience working as part of a team in a busy engineering / manufacturing environment
  • Experience of Continuous Improvement Practices and use of tools such as WCM, Lean or Six sigma
