Main Tasks  Assist in the optimisation and development of SystmOne and other clinical systems supported by the team.  Support and train end users in the use of clinical systems including SystmOne.  Ensure effective communication across all services is maintained.  To work flexibly across a broad range of issues in line with the trust's priorities.  Support and offer guidance to junior members of staff.  Assist in the completion of time limited projects as required by the directorates, carrying out baseline reviews of existing processes to allow the redesign of services.  Assist in ensuring the sustainability of existing systems. This will include support and redesign/ development work the service will require reflecting new/ changing ways of working.  Ensure quality standards are met.

3. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST 3.2 Professional Duties  To work flexibly across a broad range of issues in line with the trust's priorities.  Responsible for organising own work in line with the objectives of the organisation.  Interpret customer requirements and provide advice on potential solutions. Ensure adequate scoping takes place which considers the project's transition into operational life.  To understand and acknowledge the priorities and values across different organisations when projects cross boundaries within primary and secondary care, mental health and social care  Assist in ensuring the sustainability of existing systems. This will include support and redesign/ development work, the service will need to reflect new ways of working.  Sustainability work will include designing/ configuring templates with appropriate read codes, care plans, setting up appointment rotas and any other system functionality which may be required by the service.  Offer support to end users/ managers re system functionality/ use.  Work closely with services to review and create (where required) smart card positions for individual services.  Project management will include a rapid appraisal of the problem; researching appropriate background information and good practice/guidelines nationally.  The projects will involve the need to rapidly collect and analyze complex information from a variety of sources including datasets, written evidence in specialist areas, conducting one - one interviews with Consultants, GPs, community health staff, health and social care managers and the independent sector.  Required to attend national and regional meetings that will ensure all upcoming systems developments and information is locally adhered to. Understand the future vision and where able, participate effectively in long term strategic IM&T planning.  Carry out any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade. 3.5 Managing Self  Actively participate in regular supervision meetings. Attend all mandatory training. Participate annually, to identify, develop and agree your own development plan with your Line Manager. Comply with all policies, procedures and protocols. Carry out duties with due regard to Equal Opportunity Policy. Seek advice and support from Line Manager whenever necessary. Maintain professional conduct including appearance at all times. Ensure maintenance of Professional Registration. 3.6 Undertake all such reasonable other duties as may be required as part of the role.

4. HEALTH AND SAFETY 4.1 Healthcare Associated Infection Healthcare workers have an overriding duty of care to patients and are expected to comply fully with best practice standards. You have a responsibility to comply with Trust policies for personal and patient safety and for prevention of healthcare-associated infection (HCAI); this includes a requirement for rigorous and consistent compliance with Trust policies for hand hygiene including the 'naked below the elbow' approach, use of personal protective equipment and safe disposal of sharps. Knowledge, skills and behaviour in the workplace should reflect this; at annual appraisal you will be asked about the application of practical measures known to be effective in reducing HCAI. 4.2 Safeguarding The Trust has in place both a Safeguarding Children Policy and a Safeguarding Adults Policy in line with national legislation. The Safeguarding Policies place a duty upon every employee who has contact with children, families and adults in their everyday work to safeguard and promote their welfare. If you have concerns about possible harm to any child or adult you should contact your line manager immediately or in their absence your Assistant Divisional Director. Out of hours contact should be made with the on-call manager through switchboard. The Trust has nominated Safeguarding Leads who act as contact points for support and advice if concerns are raised about a child or adults welfare. These individuals can be reached through switchboard during office hours by asking for the Named Professionals for Safeguarding Children or Adults respectively. The policies and procedures described below are located on the intranet and internet site and you should ensure you are aware of, understand and comply with these.
