An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Mechanical Engineer to join our client, a leading global FMCG company based in Manchester. This is a full-time temporary role to start ASAP until End of Dec 2023, working a 40-hour week and is paying up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Background / General Purpose of Position:
Reporting to Project Technical Manager. The key role of Project Mechanical Engineer will be to plan and deliver all mechanical aspects of the project safely, on-time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary focus of the Project Mechanical Engineer will be in the following areas:
- Ensure the safety of employees and contractors in line with the site policies.
- Detail engineering of mechanical and infrastructure aspects of the Project.
- Build phasing plans and project networks.
- Collate bills of materials.
- Liaise with and manage contractor activities on site.
- Ensure project is delivered in compliance with statutory and company standards
- Track and communicate progress against overall project plan.
- Support installation and ramp up of new equipment including training of site personnel.
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Qualified Engineer with industrial experience delivering complex projects
- Appropriate Engineering qualification in mechanical competencies, e.g. HNC/Degree orserved apprenticship.
- Working knowledge of PUWER within food manufacturing environment.
- Must have good knowledge and use of Microsoft Office package.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering drawing systems.
- Ability to plan complex activities using tools such as MS Project.
- Working knowledge of Early Equipment Management within TPM / WCM environment.
- Good team working and Interpersonal skills.
- Time management and Task prioritisation.
- Planning and Communication.
- Management of Contractors.
