Mechanical Fitter

Our global client who specialise in technology of systems, products, services and applications is looking for Mechanical Fitters to be based at their Croydon site.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Overhaul of cooler groups, transmissions, couplers and engine rafts based primarily in the workshop.
• Mechanical fitting, assembly, strip, survey and test
• Read drawings, identify components, assemble and/or repair mechanical equipment
• Maintain good quality and efficiency
• Flexibility of skills to carry out testing, basic wiring and mechanical fitting
• Maintain good housekeeping, awareness of and adherence to health and safety requirements
• Ability to complete technical documentation as work is progresses
• To perform other duties as assigned from time to time

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Mechanical fitting experience, preferably for rotating equipment
• Ability to work to strict quality guidelines within ISO9001 and RISAS
• Preferably time-served apprentice trained, or other relevant qualification
• A working knowledge of safety systems such as Risk Assessments and COSHH Assessments will be advantageous
• Experience of Lean Manufacturing principals such as 5s and knowledge of the 7 wastes would be beneficial, but not crucial
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills
• A flexible approach to meet customer demands

The successful applicant will be an outgoing and hardworking team player. They will be open to change, and will have a flexible and helpful approach to work. The applicant must be a self-starter, and be able and willing to improve their working area with a view to increase efficiency. The roles are 12 month fixed term contracts with the view of becoming permanent.

New Employees must pass a Drugs and Alcohol related Medical upon starting within the Company.

PACKAGE DETAILS:

• 5 working week; 07:00 - 15:00 Mon - Thurs and Fri 07:00 13:30
• £26k - £29k (dependent on experience)
