An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation. Our client, a blue-chip IT company, is currently seeking a Technical Remote Specialist I based on their customer site in Yeovil. This is a full-time, permanent role to start ASAP. The role is paying up to £20,240 per annum depending on experience. Working between 08:00 - 17:30 Monday - Thursday and 08:00 - 16:00 Fridays

Due to the nature of our client's work the successful candidate must either hold or be able to obtain SC Security Clearance. For this reason, we are only able to progress applications from British nationals who already have BPSS

Role Overview

To provide onsite day-to-day IT Support and admin functions for the company at a busy Customer site based in Yeovil. The role will require a flexible individual with good communication skills and attention to detail.

Job Description

Would vary to meet Customer requirements for cover of service.

Duties would include:

  • Liaising with the Customer to resolve 2nd line IT support issues
  • Installation of new Customer user equipment - laptops. Desktops and VDI terminals
  • General break / fix repairs
  • Operating System diagnostics and repair
  • Application diagnostics and repair
  • Administering deployment solutions - OS and Applications
  • Support of Mobile solutions
  • Basic administration of Active Directory for user and computer objects
  • Basic Microsoft Exchange administration
  • Basic administration and troubleshooting of VDI sessions
  • Dealing with customers face to face
  • Provide cover within the team as required
  • Updating calls with detailed information on current status

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • Driving license.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills: calm and polite telephone manner.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft products - Windows 7 and 10, Office apps, and infrastructure services.
  • A methodical approach to troubleshooting and diagnostics for hardware and software.
  • Ability to learn bespoke applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with a varied workload.
  • Previous experience in supporting IT services at 1st or 2nd line level

Desirable Skills/Qualifications

  • Microsoft training/certification in Microsoft OS and Office Apps
  • Experience in supporting VMware VDI
  • Experience supporting onsite and remote workers
  • Experience in supporting smartphones and MDM
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM for deployments and application packaging
  • ITIL foundation
  • Experience using IT Service Management tools
