The role

The difference our new Transversal Project Manager will make
As a Transversal Project Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This role is on a large design and build programme of national importance with a healthy, long term order-book and within a growing business that is consistently achieving double digit annual growth by protecting existing interests, adapting to a changing defence landscape and growing into new markets by embracing new technology.

Day to day, you'll have responsibility for the successful delivery of transversal elements of the WHLS hardware and associated quality documentation to the customer within agreed timescales and budgets and to the specified quality, responsbile for operational management of the engineering teams that deliver the traversal equipment including schedule and risk management as well as inform decision making to deliver to contract requirements and timeframes and carry out timely and accurate reporting of management information both within the business and to the customer.

Essential experience

* Project management experience, ideally in a defence or wider engineering context
* A knowledge of project controls tools and how these tools operate to provide key information for decision making.
* Risk management - coordination of risk identification, assessment and management, and ensuring that risk management processes are followed across all work packages and contracts.
* Financial Management - Development and maintenance of contract specific schedules in order to support business-wide resource management
