The Role
This role is primarily responsible for the delivery of accurate monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, internal management accounts including variance analysis and investigation within reporting deadlines for all intercompany items. Another key part of the role is the monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, including the timely investigation and clearance of any differences.
The role also includes preparation of schedules for statutory reporting, the provision of internal and external audit information.
Responsibilities
- Performance of month end processes and posting of journals to complete the month end position of VWFS, this includes working with other areas of the business and Group companies to ensure all required journals are accurately posted in line with the month end timetable.
- Providing analysis and investigating any differences on intercompany balances identified during the month end process and as a follow up to the process.
- Answering queries from across the business on a timely basis received by the team from across the business and from other Group companies
- Preparation of management accounts for other Group entities together with analysis of movements and explanations.
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations ensuring full support for any considered risks and contingencies. Investigation and resolution of any identified issues.
- Providing information and analysis to auditors (internal and external) for quarterly, interim and year end audits. Working alongside other areas of the business to ensure audit requests are fulfilled on a timely basis
Preparation of supporting schedules for the VWFS annual accounts and dormant company accounts. Contribution to and support for finance projects.
Maintain accurate and up to date procedures / ARIS maps and IDPs.
- Contribute to Finance and Company initiatives.
- Other ad-hoc investigation, analysis and other tasks as required.
Experience and Skills required
- Working knowledge of SAP (FI,AP & AR) preferable
- Stage one/recent starter (ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience of month end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
- Experience of managing relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong Analytical skills
- Methodical and accurate
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to strict deadlines
- A team player with excellent communication skills at all levels of the business and the ability to build good relationships
