The Quality Assurance Engineer role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

Comprising of 14 dry docks, four miles of waterfront and 25 tidal berths, Devonport is the base for numerous surface vessels as well as the base and refit centre for the Trafalgar-class nuclear-powered submarines. Devonport has also recently been selected as the base port for the Navy's new Type 26 frigates and will become the maintenance centre for the future submarine programme.

The role
The difference our new Quality Assurance Engineer will make
As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be working on our Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) at the Royal Devonport Dockyard, helping ensuring delivery of robust facilities that support maintenance activities on Submarines and Warships.

Day to day, you'll be providing support at an early stage to define appropriate quality requirements, ensuring that Lifetime Records (LTRs) provide effective evidence that the design intent of plant, equipment and infrastructure has been achieved.

Working closely with our internal and external stakeholders, you will provide on producing such documentation, undertaking reviews to provide assurance that their records meet the specified requirements - inclusive but not limited to, subcontractors, suppliers and our engineering departments and project management teams.

Essential experience
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline, electrical bias preferred
* Nuclear sector experience preferred
* ISO9001 trained Auditor (Registered Lead Auditor preferred),
* Experience delivering quality on major infrastructure contracts,
* To have experience of Quality Assurance and Quality Control within the Engineering sector, including supply chain functions.
