The role
As a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll have responsibility for variance analysis and consolidation reporting for the Training Business Unit (BU), ensuring that Sector finance leadership are provided with timely and accurate information to support reporting to Group, as well as evaluation and decision making.

Day to day, you'll cover all management reporting (management accounts, rolling re-forecasts, budgets, strategic plans), financial analysis and manage any ad hoc reporting requests for the Training BU. You'll also be involved in the review of long-term accounting adjustments and consideration of emergent financial reporting issues.
Provide financial planning and analysis service support to the Training BU as required to include month end reporting and commentary, working capital analysis, cash flow analysis, budget, rolling re-forecast and strategic plan reports and presentations.

  • Review and challenge (where appropriate) the submissions from the BU to provide accurate and timely information
  • Preparation of internal timetables for the BU required for managing all major finance and planning programmes e.g. budget, forecast and strategic plan in order that Sector delivers high quality output
  • Delivery of ad-hoc requests received from Group, Sector and BU

This role is full time working 37.5-hours per week and will be based at our Lakeside site with hybrid working from home arrangements.

Essential experience of the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager:

  • Extensive experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications (including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and financial modelling
  • Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review
  • Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed
  • Experience of working in large organisations with geographically spread stakeholders
  • Experience of ERP systems and finance consolidation tools
  • Qualifications for the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager:
  • Relevant recognised professional qualification with extensive post qualification experience

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
