Job Role: Grinder

Location: Yeovil

Full Time/Hours

Hours: Alternating Early/ Late Shift - Early Shift: Monday to Thursday 07.00am to 3.30pm & Fridays 07:00am to 1.00pm. Late Shift: Monday to Thursday 3:30pm to 12.00am

Summary of functions: To set and operate grinding machines to produce aerospace components to customer specification

Salary: TBC

This role will include:

• Cylindrical and Surface Grinding which includes internal and external grinding
• Setting and operating manual honing machines
• Operating universal manual and CNC grinding machines
• Grinding complex parts to tight tolerances
• Reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings
• Check own work using inspection equipment
• Ensure that information relating to the manufacturing process is accurately recorded, maintained, and updated to reflect current process on job cards
• Always maintain a safe and tidy work environment

Skills and experience required:

• Knowledge of Studer CNC grinding machines and J&S CNC grinding machines
• Understand and able to programme using Fanuc controls
• Excellent attention to detail
• Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent (indentures accepted)
• Aerospace industry experience desired
• Experience working with engineering drawings and work to instructions i.e., job cards
