The role
As a Deputy Duty and Submarine Waterfront Support Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be responsible for all abnormal events across the Devonport site. You'll manage a critical team whose main objective is to coordinate a response to any incidents on site and to seek a positive resolution.
Day to day, you'll also be managing the day to day authorised site and cross site submarine support activities. As well as supporting the Authorised Site Facility Operator and Nuclear Site Plant Manager in support operations and maintenance as required.
- To act as the Assistant Forward Support Commander in the forward command post as part of the Devonport naval base/dockyard joint MoD/DRDL (Devonport Royal Dockyard Limited) site emergency plan.
- Managing the response to any coordination issues between Babcock Marine operations on the licensed site and the naval base.
- Communicating all incidents and accidents to the relevant senior managers and directors including any relevant sitreps.
- Ensuring that Babcock Marine facility support activities within authorised site are managed by the Babcock facility support staff and their line management.
- Liaising with the Authorised Site Operator to ensure Babcock Marine maintenance and support requirements are understood and communicated
This role is full time, 36 hours based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Deputy Duty and Submarine Waterfront Support Manager:
- Nuclear submarine experience: primary and secondary systems, operations, production, and inservice support.
- Site Wide Operations and their locations at Devonport
- Site operations experience - Desirable.
- Experience of managing emergency/major Incidents
Qualifications for the Deputy Duty and Submarine Waterfront Support Manager:
- Level 4 Qualification in relevant discipline
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance for this role.
