Purpose
quality assurance of software including both in house developed and external / bought in software. You'll participate in testing activities across the sub-disciplines of software and systems engineering including the generation of test plans, test cases, defects and issues and status reporting using Jira test management tool set

Outcomes for the role (Summary) *Development of department testing policy, testing capacity planning and tooling.
*Working with other members of the department and business, ensure requirements are correctly documented
*Assist with the formulation and implementation of Testing strategies
*Assist with resource / test environment management (allocation, monitoring, etc)
*Preparation/review of test plans, scripts to cover all phases of testing (System / Integration / User Acceptance / Operational Acceptance / Service Acceptance etc)
*Preparation/review of test reports
*Support the development and improvement of testing , covering the areas as defined in the ISTQB Foundation Qualification
*Monitor testing maturity and produce associated reports (Department and project)
*Appreciate the needs of business users and help your team / manager align IT services to meet these in the most appropriate and cost-effective way.
*When requested, contribute to project plans for the implementation of upgrades and developments to systems and services.
*Prepare for and support all aspects of testing.
*Adhere to all, IT department and IT team policies and procedures.
*Undertake any other task as requested by the Team Manager or Team Lead, documenting dates, issues and actions arising.
*Build good working relationships and share knowledge with other members of the department, mentor and coach junior peers.
*Attend product launches, technical seminars and user group meetings as directed by the Team Manager; sharing the knowledge gained through reports / presentations.

Skills and knowledge *Familiar with at least 2 of the following technologies / methodologies; Citrix, Windows Server, Unix / Linux, Storage Area Networks, Networks, Databases (MS SQL / Oracle), Application development (SDLC)
*Able to develop testing scripts
*Hands-on experience of executing tests in a complex IT environment.
*Able to manage test execution activities
*Able to carry out all ITSQB Foundation functions
*Able to assist with Defect Management
*Good people management skills
*Collaborative and willing to share knowledge with peers.
*Self-aware, able to maintain enthusiasm and complete tasks regardless of whether they enthuse or not.
*Desirable you have Wealth management and CRM knowledge/experience

Professional experience and qualifications (where necessary) *3 years+ in a IT testing oriented environment
*Proven experience in IT testing / assurance across multiple complex technologies
*Hands-on experience of testing, test script production and defect management.
*Awareness of transition mgmt. and handover to change BAU operations
