Manpower is recruiting a Support Secretary on behalf of our Public Sector client the NHS.

Location: Swansea
Contract: Temporary, duration 4 weeks minimum with possible extension
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Hourly rate: £11.86

Start date
Immediately subject to satisfactory DBS check and references. Manpower pays for the cost of the DBS check.

The role
As a Support Secretary within you will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Medical Secretary and the Team.

Key Responsibilities
Audio Typing and Data Entry: Accurately transcribe medical reports, patient information, and correspondence using various software applications.

Appointment Management: Confirming appointments over the phone ensuring patients will be attending. Calling patients to arrange appointments, liaising with clinicians.

Record Maintenance: Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations. Scanning of various documents ensuring attention to detail.

Communication: Liaise with healthcare professionals, patients, and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and information exchange.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to audio type with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and courteous demeanour.
  • Previous experience working in a health care setting or as a secretary/typist is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with electronic medical records systems is advantageous.
