Soper of Lincoln is looking for a Workshop Controller.

Your role

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the workshop, ensuring the efficient and effective running of operations. You will need to be a self-motivated and organised individual, be able to work well under pressure, with good IT and people management skills.

Reporting to the Service Manager, this is a varied role therefore we are looking for someone with a flexible attitude towards their workload.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Improving customer satisfaction figures for first time fix
  • Quality checking a minimum of 10% of all work carried out within the workshop to meet manufacturer standards
  • Motivate and drive the team to ensure productivity levels are achieved
  • Having a positive impact on the overall success of the workshop ensuring targets are met.

  • Plan and allocate work to technicians to ensure timely completion of all tasks
  • Monitor workshop productivity, efficiency, and quality of work to meet performance targets
  • Preplanning and RITA (pre diagnosis) activities to ensure an efficient and customer centric experience
  • Manage and develop our eVHC programme to ensure our 'best advise' is provided to our customers
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including job cards, service histories, and parts used
  • Manage workshop resources, including tools, equipment, and stock levels
  • Liaise with customers to provide updates on the progress of their vehicles
  • Manage and maintain our quality check programme to ensure continual feedback and improvement
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Your profile

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a main dealer workshop
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software used in workshop management

  • Technical knowledge of BMW and MINI vehicles and systems
