We are currently seeking a Assistant Group Accountant to work with our global FMCG client Elida Beauty, renowned for brands such as V05, TIGI, Timotei and Impulse, to become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at their site in Battersea/ plus remote working This is a full-time temporary role for 12 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Compensation for this role is up to £46,500 per annum pro rata. There will be no travel involved with the role

Your Role

The Elida Beauty Group Finance team are key players in the definition of our processes, risks and controls across the global business. Reporting to the Group Financial Accountant you will be part of a global team working closely with the key markets' controlling teams and cross-functional partners within the business.

Joining Elida Beauty offers a unique experience to design and implement the Finance processes and controls of the future as we transition the business to operate as a standalone entity. In doing so you will have the opportunity to define and implement the business process and technology that you will be accountable for in the future.

Your Key Responsibilities

Financial reporting

  • Accounting and controlling of Group Holding and IP entities
  • Overseeing the Group IP Royalty flows and re-charges across the group
  • Be a pioneer in defining the accounting policy manual for Elida Beauty
  • Involvement in the chart of accounts structure and mapping to financial reporting metrics

Risks and Controls

  • Identify risks and controls relevant to our group as we continue to establish our business
  • Coordinate with control owners in the logging of their control results at the end of each reporting period
  • Involvement in the reporting process of control results and the compilation of reports for leadership
  • Performance of group finance controls, including financial reporting, monitoring, transaction and access controls
  • Performance of system administration tasks within Oracle to ensure appropriate segregation of duties within the Finance department, giving the opportunity for exposure to the Oracle system and our processes as they apply to it

Group accounting responsibilities

  • Coordination of consolidated accounts for the Elida Beauty group, including consolidated financial statements
  • Coordination of the group audit

Requirements

Must have:

  • Chartered Accountancy qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or international equivalent)
  • Strong experience with risks and controls definition and assessment, for example within an internal/external audit background or past industry experience
  • Strong technical experience with Financial Reporting, including UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Strong knowledge in particular of Financial Reporting standards around consolidation, and practical experience with performing a consolidation
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with a team and influence others to achieve mutual goals and deadlines
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders effectively
  • Strong self-motivation, high levels of energy and drive to support the business into its next phase of development

Nice to have:

  • Experience in FMCG industry
  • US GAAP experience
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud
