About the role
The Commercial Assistant Temp - People and Engagement is accountable for providing support to the Supply Chain Client Communications and Engagement Team generally as described in the Principal Accountabilities below. Operating Model of the Supply Chain Directorate is complete, aligned and fit for purpose. The Operating Model covers processes, procedures, systems, tools, and people aspects (such as training, development, and succession planning).
An effective Operating Model is essential to ensure that those working within the Supply Chain Directorate have clarity as to what they are required to do and how to do it, have the right tools and systems to support them in these activities, and have the right competencies and resources to deliver.
The SCM - Operating Model - Process & Governance(P&G) is principally responsible for ensuring that those responsible for processes and governance are clear on their responsibilities, that appropriate improvement actions are being taken (where required) and that the governance model stays aligned as a whole and meets business requirements. The position is also responsible for ensuring that any proposed changes to Directorate processes and procedures are clearly communicated to the Commercial teams to ensure compliance with any updated ways of working
Role Responsibilities
- Providing support to the Client Team Senior Commercial Manager for day-to-day administration and project management of the People Strategy work streams (40%).
- Providing support to the Client Team Commercial Manager for day-to-day administration and project management of the Supplier Relationship Management Plan (40%).
- Administration of client team business as usual activities, including but not limited to preparation of meeting packs, tracking and close out of actions (20%).
- Documents maintained, stored and updated in line with HPC Management System timescales and expectations.
- Project management of workstream deliverables.
- Preparation and distribution of internal and external documents and newsletters
- Reporting to the Senior Commercial Manger (Client).
- The role is hybrid located at our Aztec West, Bristol office with expectations of 40% in-person attendance. Travel may be required to other EDF offices and HPC site as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Project Management skills and experience, with recognised Project Management qualification desirable (APM, Prince 2).
- Strong Microsoft office and presentation skills
- managing Governance (writing documentation, reviewing documentation, ensuring alignment of documentation), preferably within a nuclear and/or major programme environment.
- action tracking and monitoring - particularly where action owners are those in senior roles.
- structured and diligent approach to reviewing work and identifying issues.
- Basic familiarity with the nuclear site licence conditions and the nuclear baseline philosophy is desirable.
- Basic understanding of NEC & FIDIC forms of contract is desirable.
- Ability to work with subject matter experts to take complex information and effectively distil this into key requirements for implementation.
- Ability to engage with individuals at all levels - including holding senior members of staff to account for actions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem solver who can understand wider strategic context and is prepared to take ownership and work with minimal supervision to deliver requirements which meet these aims.
- Demonstrates and ability to learn, apply, and improve work initiatives to create performance improvements.
