Senior Designer-Design Manager

Manpower Print & Packaging Division are currently working on behalf of one of our prestigious partners, a family-owned business with a great culture, who continue to invest heavily in the company and their people!

Our client is looking to strengthen their team based in Burntwood with a Senior Designer/Design Manager who has experience of corrugated packaging.

Overview

With knowledge, guidance, direction and leadership to the Design team, you'll ensure that the department is working to the to the best of their ability, whilst effectively communicating information and issues as appropriate. You'll lead by example to meet Company requirements for quality, efficiency, continuous improvement, 5S and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day work flow running through the design department and provide support and expertise across the business as needed.
• Collaborate with other department to maximise business performance and improve work flow.
• Completing design briefs from internal and external customers.
• Creating working drawings for production.
• Complete Mid/medium complexity projects.
• Creation of customer presentations.
• 3D renders - AGCAD software.
• Designing for manufacture, signing off 1st off orders and providing operational support as & when required.
• Liaise with customers, to include occasional travel to site for meetings and presentations.
• Recruit, train, supervise and develop a small team of design staff, setting objectives/targets to manage and review performance.
• Working closely with the Marketing team providing case studies and content aligned with the group Marketing Strategy.
• Supporting our sustainability goals and being aware of new products that can help our customers deliver these objectives.

The successful candidate

• The ideal candidate will have sufficient knowledge and experience of Fefco standards, corrugated machinery and at least 2 years previous experience of working within the corrugated packaging industry.
• Will be ambitious, innovative and loyal.
