Compensation: £49,943 - £56,906 dependent upon experience + Benefits

The role
As a Strategic Planning Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Looking at the whole enterprise of data that supports the big strategic decision making, on multimillion billion pound decision making, in terms of infrastructure and fleet operations.
Day-to-day, you'll carry out analysis, programme modelling outputs and scenarios, assess risks and decisions required whilst presenting them in a manageable format. You'll also provide senior stakeholders sound data to ensure they make the correct decision. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing an appropriately comprehensive and up-to-date understanding of the submarine enterprise, Babcock business operation and the data analytics finding from the Strategic Long-Term Planning (SLTP) data analytics team
- Analysing SLTP data analytics outputs, feasibility studies, business cases, and resource forecasts to present executive visuals and associated strategic conclusion and recommendations
- Establishing information needs for analysis and proactively engage stakeholders to ensure it is secured
- Presenting and explaining information outputs to various levels and functions within the organisation
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 4 days in the office/onsite and 1 day working from home.
Essential experience of the Strategic Planning Engineer:
- UK in-service submarine engineering or wider submarine enterprise engineering experience
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the timeliness, quality, and validity of outputs
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong experience handling data and numbers, and conducting analysis and interpretation
- Excellent professionalism, team working and willing to proactively engage the wider business to support outputs.
- Strong IT skills
Qualifications for the Strategic Planning Engineer:
- Relevant engineering degree or strong relevant academic or vocational background

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
