The Role:
As a Requirements Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be working on an exciting new defence project delivering the next generation of submarine weapon handling system.

Reporting to the Weapons Handling Loading Systems Lead, and with the support of Babcock's System Engineering Discipline, you will lead a small team of System Engineers

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Develop requirements elicitation, change, acceptance, and non-conformance processes with the customer to create requirement baselines in support of engineering milestone reviews and configuration management activity
  • Plan, develop, conduct and maintain requirement throughout the engineering lifecycle whist reporting on requirement status and maturity
  • Collaborate with the System Architect to align requirements and architecture
  • Collaborate with the Test and Integration team and manage gathering and review of Verification and Validation evidence
  • Set standards for requirement quality and check requirement-related work specifying, configuring, and managing access to the requirements management database (DOORS Classic or DOORS Next Generation)

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements (this is dependent on demands and projects of work).

Essential experience of the Requirements Manager

  • An understanding of requirements management theory, matched with practical experience developing complex requirement sets
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proven System Engineering background with exposure to the engineering design lifecycle, particularly for narrow-market waterfall acquisition projects
  • Experience with International Business Machines DOORS Classic and/or DOORS Next Generation software

Qualifications for the Requirements Manager

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Able to attain or already a Chartered Engineer

Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
