Job Title: FPGA Engineer (Verification) - 6 Month Contract
Location: Cheltenham
Rate: Up to £75 per hour (Inside IR35, via Umbrella)
Duration: 6 months
Are you an experienced FPGA Engineer with strong VHDL skills and a background in FPGA verification? We're looking for a motivated engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract, working on cutting-edge aerospace projects. If you have experience with DO-254 compliance and enjoy lab-based testing, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct FPGA verification activities in line with DO-254 standards, including managing Problem Reports and producing essential documentation.
- Author and review lab-based physical tests.
- Develop and review test scripts and/or VHDL code.
- Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python, Tcl) to support test development, analysis, and data management.
- Collaborate with technical leads to carry out various verification activities.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain traceability for test results.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field.
- Strong VHDL knowledge, particularly for verification (testbenches, scoreboarding).
- Proven experience in FPGA design and verification.
- Familiarity with DO-254 verification processes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and Tcl.
- Strong attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Hands-on lab skills for debugging and testing.
- Knowledge of aviation communication protocols (e.g., ARINC429, ARINC825) is a plus.
