Manpower have partnered with Northern Irelands public transport provider to recruit a Rail Fleet Engineer who will manage asset renewal programmes covering heavy maintenance, refurbishment and overhaul across a fleet of traction and rolling stock vehicles.
Based at the Belfast rail workshop, you will oversee the engineering maintenance team to ensure work is carried out in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner.
Suitable candidates will need either HNC/ HND or above qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering along with proven experience in the rail or heavy engineering industry (working with complex vehicles/ heavy machinery).

The Role
- Develop, produce and deliver asset renewal programmes for the heavy maintenance and overhaul of traction and rolling stock including all major sub-component overhaul
- Ensure accurate record keeping of material and labour costs for heavy maintenance and overhaul programmes
- Provide support in the development, production and delivery of a budget for the Main Workshops with a view to developing a self-accounting unit within the Engineering Division
- Line management of workshop engineering staff in line with Company and Legislative standards
- Implement and expand safety systems within the Workshops
- Management of ISO9000 Quality System
- Develop positive working relationships both internally and externally
What we are looking for:
- Qualified HNC/ HND or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Proven experience in the rail or heavy engineering sector with experience of maintenance on vehicles/ complex machinery
- Experience developing and managing programme budgets
- ideally experience with quality/ safety management systems and continuous improvement
- Project management experience
