Temporary Staff Requirements
Starting in early November 2016 on a 12 week assignment, Meter Readers will be allocated a geographical patch. You will be performing 'door to door' contacts, gain authorised access to private and commercial premises and accurately record meter readings. We are looking for meter readers to cover Church Village and surrounding areas and Swansea and surrounding areas.

Working Hours
37 hours per week between 08.00 and 20.00 to be agreed with the local SSE manager. No overtime will be paid therefore candidates should not work more than 37 hours per week - any request to work additional hours should be authorised in writing by the local manager before any overtime is worked.

Pay Rate: £8.50

It is not expected that the assignment will continue beyond 12 weeks, but if it does, post-AWR benefit entitlements and pay rates will be confirmed at the time.

SSE Vehicles/Travel Expenses
Where required due to the geographic area being covered, an SSE vehicle will be provided to the temporary workers. The SSE vehicle can be taken home by candidates at the end of each shift, however should not be used for personal purposes. Fuel cards will be provided to those temporary staff provided with an SSE vehicle.

Candidate Screening
To be a successful candidate, you will need to be willing to complete the following:

*Standard DBS
*Credit Check
*CLEAN standard driving licence (zero points) - a check will be conducted by ADT on behalf of our client (non-UK driving licences take longer to check so any candidates with non-UK licences would be considered for later intakes but it's unlikely that their licence check will be back in time for the start date of the first intake)
*12 months verbal references
*Proof of Right to Work
*Proof of ID
*Proof of Address
*Candidates to provide a passport size photograph which the Manpower branch
*Driver Assessment - driver licence checks will be completed by ADT on behalf of SSE and the temporary staff will need to successfully pass a short ADT driver assessment. The driver assessment should take approximately 30 minutes to complete (unpaid) and checks general driver awareness. Failure to pass the driver assessment may result in the candidate being unable to commence in their SSE assignment.

As a large majority of the work is outdoor based, you must be flexible and willing to work in all safe weather conditions and be available for the duration of the assignment.
