Manpower Plymouth is proud to be representing one of the UK's largest suppliers of aggregates, asphalt and ready - mixed concrete. Our client currently has a rare opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join their team to provide overall supervisory control of a high PSV hard rock quarry.

About the job

Reporting directly into the District Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of the site and will be a self-motivated individual, who is able to work on your own initiative whilst under pressure in a very busy working environment.
Your duties will include the use of computer based and manual systems for batching and dispatch of concrete, the daily receipt and processing of telephone orders, controlling routine maintenance, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and supervising contractors and hauliers to ensure this site is operated in accordance with the all Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation and within quality scheme criteria.

About the ideal candidate

Previous experience in the concrete industry and the operation of mobile plant would be advantageous but not essential, as full training will be given. A good telephone manner and excellent communication skills are essential. You will ideally also have previous experience of transport and material logistics.
Applicants should be reliable, have an organised but flexible approach and be adaptable enough to be able to respond to the changing circumstances of our day to day business, with the aim to exceed our customer's expectations.

Salary is entirely dependent on experience.

Please note this role does include a shift pattern of 7am - 5pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 12pm on Saturday totalling 55 hours a week. Please only apply if this shift pattern is suitable for you.
