About the role:
Here at Babcock International we are currently looking to recruit an individual to join our Defuelling Programme team at Devonport Royal Dockyard to support the pre-planning and delivery stages of our SSN Defuel project by working across stakeholders and project teams to identify any delivery risks or potential impacts on the Programme Master Schedule from a variety of project workstreams.

We are interested in hearing from candidates with proven experience in pulling together multiple workstreams to ensure on-time and on-scope delivery of technical engineering / construction projects, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to assess progress reports, identify potential risks and either mitigate directly, or escalate as appropriate.

The SSN Defuel project goal is to deliver the Defuel of 12 Swiftsure and Trafalgar class submarines in Devonport, with the first Defuel starting in 2023. The Project is currently in the Pre-Planning phase to define the scope of each defuel and to set up the reporting and governance structure of the future project.

Currently the Future Major Infrastructure Teams are delivering the main equipment and infrastructure upgrades required for Defuel and the SSN Defuel Project needs to ensure that they deliver in 2023 and to ensure that everything else required to defuel a submarine is in place.

The SSN Defuel Workstream Integration Manager role is a 3 year fixed term full time role supporting delivery of SSN Defuel.

The role is pivotal to the future business of Babcock by providing support to SSN Defuel Project Manager in ensuring that the various change programmes across the dockyard and wider business are all complete on time and to ensure that there no gaps in the delivery capability.
