Scroby Sands

Millions of people get their gas and electricity from E.ON, at home and at work. We're one of the UK's top energy companies - and this is your chance to join us, as a Visitor Site Guide in Scroby Sands Visitor Centre. Scroby Sands Visitor Centre is a public building with information regarding Scroby Sands Wind Farm. It has several interactive displays and an education room with computers running the Energy Experience programme. The centre caters for the general public as well as organised school/group visits.

About the role:

You'll be joining our existing Visitor Site Guide team responsible for the day to day management of our Scroby Sands Visitor Centre in Great Yarmouth. This will involve the opening and closing of the site with daily checks being completed prior to opening then reporting any defects to the team administrator. Greeting visitors on their arrival and answering general enquiries on the wind farm ensuring everyone is treated courteously and respectfully face to face and over the phone. Monitoring the centres email account and responding where necessary managing bookings of the education room. Presenting "Energy Experience" sessions to groups as a wider team. Ensuring the site is kept clean and tidy whilst open to the public and performing minor maintenance such as failed lamp replacements.

The benefits:

You'll initially join us on a temporary basis and there's a range of great benefits on offer too:

  • The pay will be £10.69ph working 28 hours per week.
  • You'll start with 28 days pro-rata annual leave year, but after 12 weeks this will increase to 34 days pro-rata (including bank holidays).
  • There's good transport links nearby and the site has a great view of the sea.

About you:

Ideally you'll have some previous experience working in a customer service and/or retail position. Naturally you'll also have great communication skills, and will be comfortable handling a diverse range of people.

Our Visitor Centre is open from 9:30am until 4:30pm Monday to Sunday, you will be expected to be flexible to work during these times at 28 hours per week. With this being a seasonal role, the season rune from Easter until the 31st of October each year. There may also be requirements out of season dependent on school trips and group activities etc.
