Application Process

Online Application

You will firstly be asked to complete an online application form which you can access on a mobile phone, tablet or computer. You will be asked to provide some basic information about yourself, answer some questions to check your eligibility and understanding of the role and also complete two short statements about why you are interested in the job and the skills and experience you have. If you are applying for a technical or office-based role you will be asked to provide a copy of your CV. For all other roles, you just need to use the application form to tell us what you have been doing the last three years.

Application Review

We will review your application and assess the statements you provide in your application (and your CV if we have asked for one). If you are in the top scoring applications, we will invite you to come to an interview. We will let you know the outcome of your application as quickly as possible and usually within five days of the advert close date. If you have met the standards required but we have more applicants than interviews, we will place your application on hold and contact you if any further opportunities arise.

Interview

If you are shortlisted to attend an interview, we will send you an email and ask you to book an interview date and time using our online system. When you book your slot we will send you details of what to expect and how best to prepare for your interview. We will also send you information about the documents that you will be required to bring to the interview so that if you are successful, we can complete the pre-employment checks. We will let you know the outcome of the interview as quickly as possible, usually within five working days. If you do well at the interview but are not offered a role immediately, we will keep your details on file for 12 months so you do not need to reapply if any new jobs become available.

Pre Employment Checks

If you are successful in your interview, we will call you and make you a verbal provisional offer or ‘recommendation’. If you accept this offer, we will start the pre employment check process. The checks can take anything from a few days to a few weeks to complete depending on the job you have applied for and how quickly we can obtain a reference for you. We will keep you updated throughout the process and let you know as soon as the checks are complete. If all of the checks are satisfactory, we will then issue you with a formal offer and agree a start date with you.

Introduction and Training

Your induction and training will depend on the job you have applied for and your skills and experience. It is an exciting time to be working for NHS Property Services and we will support you in your training and development so that you can play an instrumental role in helping us to achieve our vision to be the best property and facilities provider to the NHS.
