We have great opportunities to join us as an Admin Assistant at our open plan offices based at Lingfield Point in Darlington. You will be helping us process large volumes of work for customers who wish to apply for student finance for a wide range of products administered by Student Finance England. We expect the start date to be 23 April 2018.

As an Admin Assistant you'll provide efficient and effective administrative support to your department. There's a range of different admin roles available with the Student Loans Company - including data processing, managing evidence, indexing, mail handling, scanning and quality assurance.

For this opportunity, you'll focus on data processing customer applications and accompanying evidence including handling valuable documents before returning them to the student or sponsor.

You will need to capture the information provided onto bespoke processing systems following specific processes and guidance material. You may generate letters and ask for additional information which will allow the application to progress. As we are a busy processing unit you may be required to carry out other administrative tasks to allow us to successfully deliver our service.

Previous experience isn't required for this role - what's more important is that you're computer literate and have a high attention to detail, with excellent organisational and communication skills. You should be confident in using Microsoft PC packages including Word and Excel, and ideally hold both Maths and English at GCSE level or above (or equivalent).

Our people tell us there are a wide variety of reasons why they work for us. We recognise the importance of a healthy work-life balance and our staff policies reflect this.

No matter how you join us, you'll find that you have the opportunity to develop skills in the course of your everyday work and through specific training. You'll be surrounded by friendly people in our offices which offer pleasant, open plan surroundings with an on-site cafe and kitchen facilities as well as free on-site parking. And for those relying on public transport, there is a regular bus service from Darlington town centre and train station.

We have a great selection of benefits on offer, including:

* Competitive salary

* Flexi-time scheme

* Generous annual leave - 36 days holiday including 8 public holidays (pro-rata)

* Company sick pay

* Life insurance (at no cost to you)

* Pension scheme

* Comprehensive training and guidance, delivered by the dedicated on-site team.

The role is offered to those interested in full time positions, working 6pm - 2am Monday to Friday (37.5 hours).

Interested? Apply here today! If successful, Manpower will call you - from a private number - within 2 working days to conduct a short telephone interview.
