Administrator - Logistics (Maternity Cover)

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield
Contract: Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover)

The Role

We are seeking an Administrator to support our logistics team with day-to-day operations, including shipment coordination, documentation, and supplier communication. The role involves handling UK and export orders, ensuring accurate paperwork, and supporting compliance within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process orders and manage shipment documentation for UK and export deliveries
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, hauliers, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Track shipments and resolve any delivery or transport issues
  • Check invoices, transport costs, and supporting documentation for accuracy
  • Prepare and file commercial invoices, packing lists, and export paperwork
  • Manage transport claims, damages, and shortages, liaising with relevant parties
  • Maintain organised filing systems (digital and physical) ensuring compliance
  • Provide general admin support including answering calls, emails, and data entry

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Previous administration experience with exposure to logistics, transport, or supply chain
  • Some experience or understanding of order processing, exports, and claims handling
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with documents and invoices
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload

Desirable:

  • Experience within logistics, freight, or export environments
  • Knowledge of customs/export documentation or hazardous goods
