Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a growing and well-established construction company operating across South West Scotland, is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional to play a key role in the successful delivery of a range of construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and financial control from inception through to completion.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of construction projects, helping to drive profitability through accurate cost control, budget management and commercial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and control project costs across multiple construction projects.
Track expenditure against agreed budgets and forecasts.
Review cost information and provide commercial insights to support decision-making.
Identify, investigate and report cost variances.
Assist with the financial management and performance of projects.
Support the commercial team in maintaining profitability and maximising project value.
Prepare regular cost reports and provide updates to key stakeholders.
Ensure commercial activities are carried out in line with company procedures and project requirements.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong understanding of cost control and commercial management principles.
Ability to analyse and interpret financial and cost data.
Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
Effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Commercial awareness and sound judgement when supporting project decisions.
A proactive and solution-focused approach.
