We are recruiting a reliable and professional Road Sweeper to join a leading environmental services company based in Uxbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a Class 2 HGV Driver seeking a varied role with long-term career prospects, weekly pay, regular overtime, and the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

As a Road Sweeper, you will be responsible for operating specialist road sweeping vehicles across construction sites, highways, commercial premises, and customer locations throughout London and the surrounding areas. The role combines driving duties with site housekeeping, gully cleaning, drainage maintenance, and general environmental services work.

Previous experience within the waste management, recycling, environmental services, drainage, construction, or road sweeping sectors would be highly desirable. However, we are also keen to hear from motivated Class 2 HGV Drivers who are eager to learn a new skillset and develop a career within the environmental services industry. A full one-week training programme will be provided for suitable candidates.

This is a hands-on role that involves more than just driving. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, carrying out physical tasks when required, and supporting site operations. The role may not suit everyone, but it offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to get involved.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 HGV road sweeper vehicle.
• Sweep roads, highways, construction sites, and access routes.
• Carry out gully cleaning and basic drainage maintenance when required.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects.
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Complete all relevant paperwork accurately.
• Deliver excellent customer service while representing the business.
• Adhere to Driver CPC requirements, tachograph regulations, and transport legislation.
• Work independently and manage daily schedules effectively.

Requirements

• Valid UK Category C (Class 2) Licence.
• Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
• Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience as a Road Sweeper, HGV Driver, Waste Management Driver, Recycling Driver, Drainage Operative, Dustcart Driver, Skip Driver, Tipper Driver, or Construction Support Driver is advantageous.
• Experience operating road sweepers, left-hand-drive vehicles, construction plant, or carrying out drainage and gully cleaning work is beneficial but not essential.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
• Reliable, professional, and safety-conscious approach.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• 7:00am to 5:00pm
• Saturday overtime available
