Job Title: Fabricator / Mechanical Engineer

Location: Llanmiloe, Carmarthen

Contract Length: 6 Months

You are expected to be an integral part of a team, providing mechanical support to the Range therefore, fabrication, machining, general mechanical engineering and problem-solving skills are an essential requirement, as is the ability to communicate effectively.

Overall, Purpose of the Job:

Perform the duties of a Mechanical Engineer within the Engineering section based at Pendine, assisting in the production/maintenance of Mechanical targets, equipment and components. The tasks range from: machining, fabrication (Welding), mechanical engineering (working on mechanical items) being able to operate the mechanical workshop equipment necessary to perform the tasks safely.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensure that the manufacture and maintenance of the Range equipment is carried out in line with the works schedule.

Able to interpret and work from engineering drawings.

Operation of the mechanical workshop's equipment.

General knowledge of health, safety and environmental issues with a good awareness of its implementation

Ability to work safely with minimal supervision

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or has received similar training (Services mechanical engineering training or mechanical NVQ training)

Demonstrable Mechanical Engineering skills

B/TEC ONC Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical workshop experience

Fabrication/welding skills and general machining operations

Flexible and willing to work within a team

Good communication skills
